| The White Cliffs are a prominent feature on the eastern shore of Elephant Butte Lake near the city of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. To get there, enter the state park via the Rock Canyon marina area and follow the winding park road until you reach Lost Canyon. There is a small partially dirt filled boat at the entrance to the site. When you decide on a parking and camping area at the water's edge, simply adjust your gaze northeast across the lake and you will see them adjacent to the flat top kettle mound on the eastern shore. Access to this area is by boat only, but the climbing and the fishing are well worth the effort. Brave souls might sacrifice their rope in trade for a life vest as the area offers a deep water belay in some areas. |
