| This is the first prominent feature that you will see in the Dripping Springs Recreational Area when you visit the Organ Mountains from it's southern access area. To get there, take I-10 to Las Cruces, exit at University and follow the road east until you see the signs for the park area. This feature has a long history of climbing, going back to the 30's but you may have to do most of your climbing on the northern side to avoid some issues with the park staff. They are very receptive to those who they know will not damage the rock or climb around the hermit cave, but wary of others who casually enter the area. It's always best to announce your presence, pay your fees and establish some rapport with them before you start climbing. For route information, Mountain Project.com has most of them cataloged, courtesy of the area administrator and climber, Aaron Hobson. |

| This area has drive up access and is a favorite of NMSU climbers. It also makes a good staging area for other Organs climbs. |
