Located on the NE side of El Paso on Loop 375 directly west of the Border patrol museum. The
property is on govt land and under surveillance by the Ft Bliss/McGregor Range military
police.....and the good news is that there are a few decent climbs here if you get lucky enough
to find a way to access this area. As not to encourage lawlessness, it must be noted that this is
a restricted area and permission from the govt must be acquired to access it. Historically, it was
part of a field artillery range in the 50's. As the city limits encroached, this part of the range was
closed. During the early 70's, we climbed out here as youngsters. The left side of the formation
had a trail to an underground spring where you could get water to drink. (It's still there encased
in a concrete and stone monolith.) To the right side of the formation was a trail that led up to
several more formations and an intermittent stream that had a few bowls that filled for wading
after a good rain.
